Most Lastories jewelry is made of high-quality stainless steel, finished with a layer of real 14k gold. Stainless steel is known for its durability and the fact that it does not discolor. You can therefore wear it with peace of mind, even if you sweat or accidentally get wet.
Please note: although stainless steel does not discolor, the shine may become slightly duller over time. This does not happen quickly, but is a natural effect of daily wear. Think of friction with clothing, skin oils, or other jewelry. Fortunately, your jewelry will remain a beautiful color even after that – it only loses that initial ‘new’ layer of shine. Do you want to preserve the shine? Then store your jewelry carefully and polish it occasionally with a dry cloth.
For our silver jewelry, we only use real 925 Sterling Silver – but this only applies to our silver Story rings. These come with a special polishing cloth, so you can easily make them shine again.
Our gold Story rings are made of stainless steel with a brass wire to secure the gemstone. This wire is plated with a strong plating technique, but can discolor with intensive contact with water or sweat. Therefore, we offer no warranty on this.
The pearls in our jewelry are made of acrylic with a mother-of-pearl layer. Here too, it applies: beautiful, but avoid contact with hand cream, cleaning agents, or excessive water use to maintain the beautiful effect.
How to keep your jewelry looking its best:
- Take off your jewelry when showering, swimming, sleeping, or exercising
- Avoid contact with perfume, cream, and cleaning agents
- Store them in a dry place (preferably not in the bathroom)
- Polish them with a dry, soft cloth

- 6-month warranty on discoloration of stainless steel jewelry
- 3-month warranty on stones that come loose

3-month warranty on items that break due to a manufacturing defect
- No warranty on brass wire or acrylic pearls (for discoloration or fading)
- No warranty for loss of jewelry
